Planning Any New Year's Resolutions For 2018?

Many people have made New Year's resolutions today. What I like about resolutions for a new year, are the acknowledgement that something in one's life needs transformation and the hope and belief that change in one's life can happen, especially for betterment. I see so many resolutions as evidence of persons trying to find their way. Yet, as much as we all want to find our way, I have come to realize that in searching and finding what we claim as our way, we contribute to summoning events and other things into our lives that should not be.; things that the Lord does not ordain for us.

We can not avoid trouble, but we can lessen trouble if we learn the way of the the Lord for us and follow it. He has much to say about our lives and direction in the scriptures. First, He is The Way (John 14:6). Next, His Way is perfect (Psalm 18:30). Then we must know that our times are in God's hands. The scriptures reveal, "My times are in your hands" (Psalm 31:15) and "You will show me the path of life" (Psalm 16:11). There are more directional words from the Lord for us, but I would like for you to meditate on these and declare them throughout the weeks ahead. As you declare them, you will find restoration, direction, and so much more. You will ultimately find your way in Him. Through the mighty Word Of God you will find a way; a way that is righteous and pleasing to the Lord. Our way is pleasing to us, but the Lord says, " There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12). Why waste time, energy, and resources doing things our way, just to be out of order and headed in the wrong direction?

The path that the Child of God takes is already mapped out for us. There are similarities in the lives of Kingdom Citizens, the Holy Nation. Yet, tailored made for you and are our forks in the road, bumps in the road, roads less traveled, and turning points that are intended to develop, teach, prepare, equip, train and protect us. Since our times are in God's hands and He shows us the path of life, it is to our advantage to trust Him for direction, The Way. In doing so, our way eventually becomes His Way, a way that we should not fear. Peace and prosperity of our soul we are sure to gain. Furthermore, when a man's or woman's way pleases the Lord, He causes even his/her enemies to be at peace with him/her. (Proverbs 16:7). Now who in their right mind would not want this kind of peace?

Whatever the decision is, whether to begin, end, or continue something this year, ask the Lord for direction. What He decides to do will be perfect for you.
